Location: Del Mar Heights community of Del Mar, California.

The existing residence was built in the 1970's, and as such is relatively outdated when compared to recently renovated homes in the community. The project proposed to add an additional 500 s.f. to the existing ground floor, and 1,200 s.f. to the second floor.

The ground floor addition / remodel consists of creating a new Entry Cupola, a new Great Room, and additional space at the rear of the home which becomes part of the kitchen remodel. The existing kitchen / dining area was completely demolished to create a larger, open style kitchen and dining area.

The second floor addition / remodel consists of a large master suite with walk-in closet, luxurious master bath with private water closet and a "Japanese style" jacuzzi tub and open shower combination. A private balcony takes full advantage of the ocean view towards the West. An additonal bedroom and office was also be added, along with an open library / sitting located adjacent the second floor landing.
