Location: Bay Park community of San Diego, California.

Project Description: Completed August, 2008

The project is located in the Bay Park area of San Diego, CA, only minutes from Mission Bay. Three specific goals were desired by the owners, 1. enhance and update the exterior aesthetics, 2. enlarge the living space, 3. take advantage of the Mission Bay view.

1. The curb appeal was enhanced by creating a stone entry cupola to contrast the stucco of the front facade. The stone was further utilized by running three feet above the ground along the base of the wall. New stucco color & texture was desired, as well as a contrasting stucco trim around the windows.

2. The existing living room was enlarged by 300 sq. ft. towards the rear yard. New dual french doors provide access to the rear yard, as well as substantially increasing the amount of light entering the room. A new wrought iron stair provides access to a new second floor consisting of a 400 sq. ft. living space with fire place, full bathroom and exterior balcony with a view towards Mission Bay.

3. A new 400 sq. ft. roof deck provides yet another, unobstructed view towards Mission Bay, and also provides outdoor living for the owners.
